How we got here

Our Statement

We have been watching the biggest loser from the beginning and it has been our main source of motivation to get started on a new and healthier way of living. When we can see each week what can truly be accomplished by dedication and hard work, we just know with each others help we'll be able to succeed. Our plan is a simple one, we count our calories every day and log at about.com. We enter in everything we eat and know at any moment of the day pretty much where we are as far as calorie intake. We are also exercising 6 days a week. We do 20 minutes on the elliptical and some weight training one day, and the next day we do step aerobics and weights. On Saturday's we walk a mile just for a little extra. Sunday's we rest. We are doing a weekly weigh in each Monday. After week 1 Donna has lost 3 lbs. and Tricia has lost 5 lbs. so we are both extremely motivated to keep going. Since we are mother and daughter we are both delighted to see the other doing well. It would mean a lot to win the contest just for some validation of all the hard work and of coarse to be at the final taping would be amazing.

Still going

Well I haven't posted anything on here all summer but I'm so happy to say I'm still on the weight loss journey. I've been working out regularly and still eating healthy. I'ts just become my way of life. I'm at a hurdle right now and having a hard time getting over it as I stayed at 170 for about 5 weeks and the last 2 weeks have finally got down to 169. I started some kick boxing classes once a week thinking I needed to change something up to get over that hump. I can't beleive in January I weighed 218 lbs. and wore a size 20 and now I am comfortably in a size 9. My daughter and partner has been slacking a bit and has only been periodically going to the gym but has maintained her eating habits. She hasen't lost anymore weight that her 50 lbs. but hasen't gained either. Now that the kids are back in school she's trying to get back on track. My regards to all of you who started at the beginning of the MPMU and are still here plugging away at the pounds, it is so worth the struggle and so needed for a healthy life. I'm so excited for the biggest loser to start again next week, maybe that can be the push I need. Thanks for listening and good luck to all. Donna

So ready for summer and SUN!!

Well I haven't posted anything for awhile so I first want to say hey to all of you out there still on the journey.  Props for hanging in there. To date Tricia and I have lost a combined total of 91 lbs. since Jan. 1, 2008.  41lbs. for me and 50lbs. for Tricia. We're still eating right and working out 3 to 4 times per week and feeling so good. We are both wearing a size 12-14, from a size 20-22.  Healthier living is SO argeeing with me. Waiting for some sunshine as we don't get much here in WA state. Good luck to all and keep up the great work!!     Donna

So Unbelievably Happy!!!

I can not belive how happy I am. My life has been going so great. I have lost 40lbs now that is just so exciting. I just feel sooooo amazing. I know that I havent posted in a while and I am sorry I have just been so busy. I am so proud of everyone and all the goals that have been reached, and all the accomplishments that have been made. I just want everyone to know that I really dont think that I could have gotten where I am today without the support of all of you guys and my awsome Mom. She is doing so wonderful and looks so great. She is my rock and I am so greatful to her for starting this wonderful journey with me. I would have never though 3 months ago that I would be under 200lbs and now I am and it feels so good. Keep up the good work everyone!!!!

Hi to all my fellow losers, Well so sorry the season is over but glad that so many of us are still here and still losing. I had a great week this week and lost another 3 lbs. putting my total weight loss since Jan. 1st at 28 lbs. and boy what a difference those 28 pounds make in the way I look and feel. Tricia crossed several milestones this week, first we joined Matt and Corey' s 15 pound challange and today she hit 16 lbs. lost for that, second, she hit the big 40 lbs. lost mark and third, that put her down to under 200 lbs. 197 to be exact. She looks great and I'm so happy for her. Anyhoo best of luck to you all this week I hope you lose lots and lots. Love, Donna

Better week

Hi All. Not much time today as I'm at work and have much to do. Just wanted to say congrats to all my fellow losers who worked so hard this week. Tricia is on vacation so I really am missing my partner but have gone to the gym anyway. After my dismal 0 lb. weight loss last week, I lost 3 lbs. this week so I'm very happy about that and feeling great. Good luck to all, Donna

Where we want to go

We want to move forward from this point in our lives eating and living a healthier lifestyle. Once the weight comes off we intend on keeping it off. We feel we can accomplish this by changing the way we eat and making that our norm, boosting our energy by exercising every day, and set an example for other family members as they watch our progress. Hopefully the will jump on, take hold, and come along for the ride.

Keep healthy snacks with you at all times-nuts are easy-the Biggest Loser Diet contains a lot of nuts. and pre-potion them out, or other stuff and try to eat every 3 hours. It's been helping me not binge on stuff because I never get too hungry. Best of luck, Kelley
